Why use PM gearless traction machine
Bluelight don’t make geared machine, we only make gearless machine. Because we think in the worldwide, this is an inevitable trend. And it is a fact that the global elevator industry is moving from geared machine to gearless machine. This trend is inevitable, and it will happen to the market. Just like when you have Nokia phone, and you will change it to Iphone. Everyone is using Iphone, which is so much better. We have high efficiency on gearless machine. Without gearbox, the running performance and efficiency of gearless machine is very high. Gearless machine has small size, you can compare geared machine and gearless machine, the size differences are quite big. For smaller size motor, you can mount it on different locations, such as mini-machine room and machine roomless, which is much easier solutions. So this is a big plus for the elevator companies.
Third one lower noise, because it doesn’t have gearbox, so direct drive, very low noise, very quiet, another plus especially for machine roomless application. Power saving, for the same elevator, if we change the gearless machine from geared machine, the power can be reduced to one side. And you can use a smaller inverter to drive it, which saves more cost.
And last but not the least, the low maintenance cost, now the gearless machine, we all use sealed bearings, bearings you don’t need to inject grease during it’s life time. Plus the controller control the brakes to close the brakes at zero speed, so basically you don’t need to do anything for the maintenance for gearless machines. But for geared machines you have to do a lot of maintenances, to change the oil, monitoring the oil level. It’s a pain in the neck to maintain the geared machine, on the other hand, for gearless, you don’t have to worry about it. So we believe that this’s a fact that everybody is gonna change.
